I couldn't sleep last night (again, arrggh) and I was thinking of this so I thought I would share:
Smells I love:
- cat fur warmed by the sun
- the back of the boy's head
- the ground when it just starts to rain
- steak on a grill
- hyacinths
- warm bread
- strawberries
- pumpkin pie
Smells I hate:
- trash
- dog poop
- human urine
- diesel exhaust
You?

Gretchen Rubin of the Happiness Project has become slightly obsessed with the sense of smell, and blogs about it often. She lists a bunch of different pleasant scents in this post.
Any Aveda products (Which I can rarely afford); Austin right after a bath; Ervin right after a bath - :) steaks on the grill; onions sauteeing, lavender.
Love...fresh baked bread, fresh bathed baby, vanilla.
Hate... burned garlic, bad body odor, dirty kitty litter box.
I love to open shampoo and lotion bottles in stores so I can get a nice whiff of fragrance. My husband thinks I'm nuts. We have shared many a knowing glance when we behold two of our three children do the same. He is outnumbered :)
Love the smell of green apple shampoo, lavender lotion, soaps of all kinds. Hate the smell of crotch when I'm picking up my kids clothes trying to figure out if it's clean or dirty.
Orange blossoms on an early morning in Spring, bicycling to work. A crisp, on-shore breeze on a FL winter day - white, sugar like beach sand seemingly crunching under a pair of hiking boots almost like snow.
On the other hand...
A baby's normal digestive process gone horribly wrong - in either direction.
